Punjab Land Records Authority launches land records/property transfer services for overseas Pakistanis
According to the spokesperson, Punjab Land Records Authority has started providing land record services related to Punjab for overseas Pakistanis. Overseas Pakistanis can now benefit from services including: Record of Rights (Fard for record), Fard for transactions/sale, copy of sanctioned mutation, e-registration, buyer’s registration, and seller’s registration. Initially, these services have formally been launched from London. In the next phases, facilities will also be provided to Pakistanis residing in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Spain, the United States, and Italy.
Director General Punjab Land Records Authority, Ikram-ul-Haq, stated that the property transfer process will be simple and easy. Under this system, the need for Power of Attorney will be eliminated. After fee payment, the task of electronic registration will be sent by the Sub-Registrar to an officer nominated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After verification of all documents and biometric confirmation directly linked with NADRA, the task will be sent back to the Sub-Registrar.
This process will not only save overseas Pakistanis from the hassle of travel but will also help eliminate fraud and wastage of time.
