The Directorate General Public Relations (DGPR) has successfully launched its first modern DSNG and OB Van, marking a major technological milestone in Punjab’s official media and information system. The project aims to ensure fast, high-quality, and reliable media coverage across the province through advanced broadcasting facilities.

On the occasion, Provincial Minister for Information and Culture Azma Zahid Bukhari provided a detailed briefing on various aspects of the project. She explained that the van will not only support live coverage of official ceremonies and events but will also be used for emergency situations, field reporting, and real-time broadcasting of important government activities.

The state-of-the-art DSNG and OB Van will provide the following services across Punjab:

  • High-quality live news coverage
  • Outdoor broadcasting
  • Uninterrupted satellite uplink
  • Mobile live streaming

According to officials, the van will also enable live transmissions from remote and underdeveloped areas. This will help ensure timely and authentic information reaches every part of the province.

AI Technology and Advanced Systems

For the first time, the van has been equipped with an advanced AI-based audio and video transmission system, designed to improve broadcast quality and ensure stable signal delivery. In addition, the project includes the use of AI-powered drones, which will assist in aerial coverage, monitoring large gatherings, and covering special events.

These modern technologies will not only enhance video quality but will also provide field teams with safer, faster, and more efficient reporting tools.

Ground Station and Technical Infrastructure

A modern ground station has also been made fully operational at DGPR as part of the project. This ground station will control satellite links, signal monitoring, and key data transmission processes, resulting in significant improvements in broadcast speed and quality.

Officials stated that this infrastructure will bring DGPR in line with leading modern media organizations and will play a vital role in aligning official media with the demands of the digital era.
