Sahiwal Development Boost under Punjab Sustainable Program

Commissioner Sahiwal Division, Dr. Asif Tufail, has stated that the Punjab government is implementing a multi-billion rupee PSP (Punjab Sustainable Program) to provide better urban facilities to the people of Sahiwal. Upon completion, the project will fulfill the city’s sewerage and drinking water needs for the next 30 years.

He expressed these views while addressing a detailed briefing on the PSP program in his office, which was attended by Additional Commissioner Coordination Dr. Saifullah Bhatti, Director Development & Planning Shafiq Ahmed Dogar, Deputy Director Technical Imran Khan, PSP City Manager Muhammad Asjad Khan, and ACG Ghulam Hussain Bhatti, along with other relevant officials.

While instructing for the early completion of the program, he emphasized that the quality of work must be prioritized to ensure long-term benefit for the citizens. He also appreciated the completion of three parks in the city and the construction of new roads.

He directed that all projects must be completed by September 2025.

During the briefing, City Manager Muhammad Asjad Khan informed that the sewerage line installation in the northern part of the city is 91% complete, while in the southern part it is 96% complete. He added that the work on College Road and Farid Town Road will also be completed by the end of July.

Furthermore, he stated that a water supply project worth over Rs. 3 billion has been completed, which includes the laying of 543 kilometers of pipelines, providing clean drinking water to more than 43,000 households.

Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail appointed Deputy Director Technical Imran Khan as the focal person for ensuring adherence to the timeline and directed him to monitor the daily progress of all ongoing programs.
